We don’t track you, profile you, or follow you around the web. This site sets no cookies at all, and there is no cookie wall to get past.
Why there's no cookie banner
Most websites greet you with a wall of choices before you have seen a thing, and it is rarely clear what you are agreeing to. This one doesn't, because there is nothing here to agree to. We use no analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts, and no tracking of any kind.
A banner asks your permission to store things about you. We store nothing about you, so there is nothing to ask. Instead of a pop-up, you get this plain explanation, which you can read whenever you like.
What this site stores on your device
If you change anything in Accessibility options — text size, contrast, bold text, easier spacing, or reduced motion — your choice is saved on your own device, in your browser’s own storage. Nothing is sent to us, or to anyone else. It remembers the preference, not you.
If you never touch the options, nothing is stored at all. Reset all in Accessibility options clears every choice whenever you like.

What we don't do
- No analytics — no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, nothing.
- No advertising and no ad cookies.
- No third-party scripts, fonts, or embeds. The type is served from here.
- No profiling, and no following you between sites.
- No selling or sharing of anything about you.
What the server records
Like almost every website, this one runs on a hosting company’s server — ours is Bluehost. Their servers keep standard access logs: the internet address (IP) a request came from, the page asked for, the date and time, and the browser used. Every website you have ever visited creates records like these; they are part of how the web works.
We don’t use them to identify anyone, and we don’t combine them with anything else. They are kept for about a month, then automatically deleted.
If you email us
If you write to hello@safeandsoundwebsites.co.uk, we receive your email address and whatever you put in your message. We use that only to reply. We don't add you to any list, and we don't use it for marketing.
Our basis for this is straightforward: you contacted us and expect an answer. You can ask us to delete your emails at any time.
We keep correspondence for as long as we are talking, and delete it when you ask or when it is no longer needed.
One technical note: to protect our address from being forged, mail providers send us automated reports about messages that claim to come from our domain. Those reports are about mail servers, not about you or your visit.
The people we work with
We never name the individuals we work with, and we never name an organisation we have worked for without their consent. What we find in an assessment belongs to the organisation we found it for.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can:
- Ask what we hold about you (likely just your emails to us).
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how we have handled things.

Why this matters
We think the default should be privacy, not surveillance. You shouldn't have to click through a consent box, because there should be nothing to consent to. This site is built to that standard, and we check our own work the same way we would check yours.
